Magazine Cover Review

Magazine Cover Review

The magazines of these years are very detailed and have a lot of effort put into them in this time. The featured articles are very pleasing to the eye. The magazines are very inspirational when you first look at them. For example, the rolling stone cover with Lil Baby is very engaging because of the difference of colors and the angle of the camera and the background was different because I believe that the back is the burned remains of the protests of Minnesota and the BLM may have been the initial message of the cover of the magazine. The magazine covers in the magazines all have messages in the covers and I think that's why each of them are catching to the eye. The cosmopolitan magazine has a cover photo of a women and that catches the eye of men in the world. The Oprah Winfrey magazine cover was inspiring to women because she is an inspiration to women around the world because of where she came from. The front of the GQ magazine caught the eye of kids and teens around and the world because they are the people who look up to Travis Scott and listen to the music. The Sports Illustrated magazine is pleasing to the eye of men because of the swimsuit cover. That attracts men and they are the target audience of the magazine. The audiences, advertising money, and the loyalty of the brand all come from the magazine and what they produce by making it look professional and official. They ensure the money they get from the cover by making sure that the first thing that they look at is going to catch them and make them read the magazine. The magazines are very hard and thought about and they are very important for the company and the product. Each one of these magazines has a target audience just from the cover. Whatever they put on the cover is what the whole magazine is going to be based about and that will make you read the magazine and see what else is inside making that a success for the publisher. The Rolling Stone and GQ magazine were targeting teens and kids from the covers of the magazines, Lil Baby and Travis Scott are both very large influencers for kids my age and if they get them hooked there they got them on the magazine which is the main goal of the cover. In the text "Does Size Matter" they say that the narrator will surrender to the newsflash which is the cover. Once they submit to the cover they submit to the magazine. In the text it also says that the magazines are filled with color and oversized headlines. These are used to grab the attention of the audience and that is the whole goal of the magazine. Overall, the magazines that are produced these days have to be bigger and bolder than every because there are so many more ways to see the news and social media. They have to be big, flashy, and enduring to the audience and they are doing a great job of that with the whole idea of color contrast and bling pictures.

Scherer, M. (2002). Chances are you won't bother to read this article. It is just one long block of text, after all, unbroken by alluring pictures, snappy captions, or eye-grabbing infographics. You can't click it. You can't flip it. All you can do is read it. (Does Size Matter?).
